Abstract:
High traffic on the highway will gradually degrade its quality before it reaches its service life. Pavement deterioration results in damage to the road surface as well as structural damage. Road damage leads to a decrease in the level of traffic safety, comfort and security. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze road damage to determine the appropriate type of handling. The purpose of this study is to describe the level of road damage based on the PCI method on the West Ring Road and determine the type of handling or maintenance from the PCI method on the West Ring Road section. Analysis using the PCI method is carried out based on the Guidelines for Determining the Pavement Condition Index (IKP) Pd 01-2016-B. The data used in this study are primary data obtained through field surveys and secondary data in the form of road section data obtained from the PUPR Office of Malang Regency. From this study, it was obtained that the level of road damage on the West Ring Road section of Kepanjen District from Malang to Blitar using the PCI method was moderate with a PCI value of 56,88. The type of handling or maintenance based on the PCI method is structural improvement.
